Foundation hosts 5th annual scholarship fundraising event connecting industry and education April 21

Anoka Technical College Foundation invites area businesses and business leaders to it’s 5th annual scholarship fundraising event:

Connect the Dots: Where Education Meets Industry
Social Hour with Live Jazz and Expert Panel Discussion
Thursday, April 21, 2016

This year’s event, Connect the Dots: Where Education Meets Industry will feature a social hour at 5:30 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm and a lively panel discussion at 7:15 pm. The event wraps up with a student speaker, a Fund the Need challenge to raise additional scholarship funds and the announcement of the winners of some fabulous door prizes.

The panel discussion will focus on the region’s changing workforce in the short and long-term and the ramifications for the region’s employers and secondary and post-secondary educational institutions.

The panelists for this year’s event include:

  • State of Minnesota Workforce Data Analyst, Kyle Uphoff
  • MNSCU Director of Career Technical Education, Jeralyn Jargo
  • Anoka-Hennepin School District Associate Superintendent, Jeff McGonigal
  • Elk River school district Superintendent, Mark Bezek

A handful of high-level health care and manufacturing executives will also join the panel. The latter portion of the discussion will feature questions from the audience.

Anoka Technical College Foundation welcomes back returning sponsors for this year’s scholarship fundraising event: Allina Health, Connexus Energy, Federal Premium Ammunition, Mate Precision Tooling, Tolerance Masters, Wilson Tool, Cretex Companies, Luther Automotive Group, Lancer Catering , Mary T Inc., Accelerated Innovations, DLR Group, PSD Development, Northeast Bank The Bank of Elk River, the Professional & Workforce Training division of Anoka Tech and Anoka-Ramsey Community College, as well as the colleges themselves. New sponsors this year include Kraus-Anderson Construction, Ultra Machining Company, Aid Electric, Safe Reflections Inc. and the Anoka-Hennepin Education Foundation.

The Anoka Tech Foundation relies on sponsors to make this event successful. Area businesses are encouraged to join these regional business participants in sponsoring this event. It is an entertaining and purposeful evening to share with interested coworkers and clients. Sponsorships begin at $1000, with $500 going directly toward a named scholarship. Individual tickets are $75.
