Top Nursing program recruiting for January openings
Anoka Technical College’s Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant programs rank among the top 20 producers in the nation, according to a recent study reported in Community College Times, and the program has openings for January start.
“The Oct. 31 deadline is being extended in order to fill the new class to capacity,” said Christina Wilson, Nursing instructor. “And the job outlook for practical nurses is excellent. Anoka Tech graduates have a 100% job placement rate.”
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) reports the state currently employs 17,680 licensed practical nurses. DEED projects ongoing demand for practical nurses with an 18.6% increase in positions through 2022. The median wage for a practical nurse in Minnesota is $20.36.
Anoka Technical College’s Practical Nursing diploma is a full-time 38-credit program that can be completed in two semesters. Practical nurses specialize in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in any stage of wellness or illness. Graduates work closely with physicians, registered nurses, and other health care professionals to deliver highly-skilled, delegated technical medical and nursing care. They work in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, industrial health centers, schools, assisted living facilities, and private or group homes.
