Anoka Technical College offers three programs options: Turf and Golf Course Management Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, Turf Management diploma, and Irrigation & Ground Management certificate.
Turf and Golf Course Management is a 69-credit Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. This program prepares students to be employed in turf, golf course, sports fields, and grounds management industries. The courses are designed to help individuals manage the operations of turf and golf courses. Areas of focus include turf grass, golf course design and construction, grounds equipment and operation, pest control, grounds management, and client communication.
Some courses may require an Accuplacer/ACT score or completion of basic math, basic English and/or reading courses with a "C" or better.
By completing this program, students will achieve the following learning outcomes.
Twelve (12) credits of general education credits from the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) are required. MnTC credits must be from three different goal areas and can be completed separate from or together with the technical credit requirements. Note: MnTC credits are not all listed in your program sequence plan. Please see your faculty advisor or enrollment services for help in planning when to complete your MnTC credits.
Students can choose to complete this program part-time. Part-time students will take longer to complete their program than students who follow the full-time sequence listed on the official program guide (see the program guide PDF under the LINKS section to the right). Because every course may not be offered each semester, it is important for part-time students to reach out to their faculty advisors for help in planning their long-term, part-time course sequence.
If you need help picking out your first semester courses, reach out to your faculty advisor or enrollment services (contact info can be found under the “Contact” section on the top right portion of this page).
All Anoka Technical College students seeking an Associate in Applied Science (AAS), diploma, or certificate must meet the cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.
