Hometown: I grew up in Rogers, Minn. and graduated from Elk River High School. I currently live in Plymouth, Minn. with my husband and two daughters.

Educational Background: I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mass Communication–Advertising and a minor in Geography–Travel and Tourism. While in college, I completed an internship with Walt Disney World and experienced what it was like to see Disney from an insider’s perspective. It was a fun and memorable experience.

Best Adventure: I took part in a study abroad program while at St. Cloud State and studied in Northern England for six months while in college. I lived in a 12th century castle and traveled extensively throughout Great Britain, Ireland and Europe. It was an experience of a lifetime!

Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: The hallmark of Anoka Tech is our faculty and staff. Our talented instructors and dedicated staff are committed to help students reach their educational and career goals. Assisting students is our primary goal and we’re here to help students to see their potential.

Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: Take advantage of this time to realize the possibilities in front of you. Students at Anoka Tech are taking steps to do something they really want to do in life. I encourage students to explore opportunities to help them learn what really motivates them to succeed in their education and ultimately their career.

I’ve spend the last 26 years in Oviedo, Fla., but am originally from the southern suburbs of Minneapolis.

Educational Background: I received a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communications with a minor in Marketing from the University of Central Florida, and an Associate of Arts from Seminole State College.

Best Adventure:
After spending a year living and teaching in South Korea, my now wife and I spent three weeks backpacking through China before we made our way back to the United States. Our journey took us from the ancient capital of Nanjing to the current capital of Beijing, all the way down to Yangshuo, on the iconic Li River.

Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: I really liked the warm and welcoming environment at Anoka Tech. Everyone is happy to help and takes a true interest in helping students succeed.

Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: Be prepared to give it your all, but if you are struggling, always remember there are many avenues to help you succeed at Anoka Tech. From tutoring centers to counselors to student groups, we want to help you reach your goals.

Hometown: I am an Anoka County native, having grown up and graduated from high school in Coon Rapids. I currently reside in Andover with my husband and children. Therefore, I know the best kept secrets of Anoka County – Anoka Tech being one of them!

Educational Background: I graduated from University of Minnesota, Duluth with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Psychology. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology at Bethel University.

Best Adventure: My most memorable adventure was a family trip to Disney World for my grandfather’s birthday. Riding in the first seat of one of the fastest roller coasters with my grandpa on his 70th birthday was a moment I will never forget! This trip was a great reminder in balancing work and fun. Successful students must devote time to recreation in addition to studying.

Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: I love the welcoming environment at Anoka Technical College. Small class sizes, friendly staff and instructors who are devoted to student success are invaluable. No student is lost in the crowd at Anoka Tech!

Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: I encourage all students to get involved on campus! Joining student clubs and attending campus events will increase your engagement at Anoka Tech by meeting new people and having fun! Remember that all clubs and activities are free to students. So get out there and get the most out of your experience here at Anoka Tech!

Educational Background: I graduated from Anoka Technical College in May 2017 with my Associate of Applied Science in Supervisory Management. I am currently working toward my bachelor's degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Best Adventure: I spent 10 days in Rome exploring the history and visiting the sights and took a day trip to Tuscany, where I had lunch in the cask room of a winery. I took another day trip to Naples, where I  dined on the coastline with Mount Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri in the background.

Favorite aspect of Anoka Technical College: The faculty, especially how they take personal pride in all of their students, making sure that they get what they need to succeed.

Advice I would give to students who are applying to Anoka Technical College: Remember it is our job to make this process as easy as possible for you. Ask questions and, if you don’t understand, ask again. Get all of your paperwork. including financial aid, in as soon as possible. That way if there are any issues they can be corrected before you start classes.
