Orientation

We look forward to welcoming you to the college and sharing details with you about being a student at Anoka Technical College.

Before you can register for classes for the first time, you must be accepted to Anoka Technical College.

Once accepted, you need to attend a new student orientation. During orientation you will learn about campus resources, campus technology, receive academic advising and register for classes.

New Student Orientation Schedule

Congratulations on your admittance to Anoka Technical College!

Your next step is to complete an orientation session, where you will learn about college procedures, resources and meet with faculty advisors to register for your classes. Once you complete an orientation session, the orientation hold on your registration is removed.

At this time, the best option is to complete online orientation. Students who are accepted into their program will receive directions from Enrollment Services. Check your email for more information and directions to complete online orientation. If you have questions, contact Enrollment Services at enrollmentservices@anokatech.edu or 763-576-7710.

Summer and Fall Semester Orientation:

  • Thursday, April 16 and Thursday, May 7 - Cancelled online orientation available
  • Monday, June 1, 3 pm – Fall Only
  • Tuesday, June 23, 1 pm – Fall Only
  • Thursday, July 23, 3 pm – Fall Only 

On-campus orientation lasts approximately two hours. Check in begins 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. It is important that you remain in the session for the entire time in order to register for courses!

Before you sign up for a session you must:

  1. Be accepted to Anoka Technical College
  2. Complete either the Accuplacer exam or submit a copy of current ACT, MCA or SAT scores to meet Anoka Tech’s placement requirements. If unsure, please visit our Testing page before signing up for a session!

One Stop Schedule

Anoka Technical College hosts One Stop Registration days to help prospective students take care of all the steps necessary to begin college.

No advance reservations are needed. Prospective students can check in anytime during One Stop hours.

Fall Semester One Stops:

  • Thursday, August 6, 9 am to 2 pm
  • Wednesday, August 12, noon to 5 pm 
  • Wednesday, August 19, 9 am to 2 pm

In just a few hours, attendees will be able to complete any or all of the following:

  • Apply to one of our 70+ in-demand programs
  • Meet placement requirements or take Accuplacer test
  • Attend orientation
  • Register for fall classes

Summer semester begins May 26

Fall semester begins August 24

Transfer Student Orientation Schedule

Transfer students are not required to attend in-person orientation.

Once accepted as a student at Anoka Technical College, transfer students receive instructions necessary to access detailed orientation information. Review of the information must be completed to facilitate registration for courses.

PSEO Orientation

Congratulations on your admittance to Anoka Technical College!

Your next step is to sign up for a PSEO Orientation Session where you will learn about college procedures, resources, and register for your classes. Once you attend a session, the orientation hold on your registration will be removed.
 
Orientation will last approximately two hours. It is important that you remain in the session for the entire program if you wish to register for courses!
 
Before you sign up for a session you must:

  1. Be accepted to Anoka Technical College.
  2. Complete either the Accuplacer exam or submit a copy of current ACT scores to meet Anoka Tech’s placement requirements. If you are unsure if you need to take the Accuplacer or would like to view the ACT scores needed to waive the Accuplacer test, please visit our Testing page before signing up for a session!
  3. New PSEO Student Orientation dates will be included in the acceptance email, once all application materials have been submitted and processed.

If you are a current PSEO student at another college, email Christa Hayes at chayes@anokatech.edu before signing up for the orientation.

Visitor Parking

There is no fee or parking pass/permit required when visiting Anoka Technical College.

Please park in Lot A on the east side of the building and use the main (E1) entrance for the following:

  • college visits and tours
  • new student orientation/registration
  • Open House
  • student services assistance (admissions, financial aid, registration and records)

If Lot A is full, park on the south side of the building, adjacent to Hwy 10.
