College Welding students place in top honors in regional welding competition

Anoka Technical College Welding students scored top honors in the regional Behind the Mask Welding Contest held at Central Lakes Community College on February 22, 2017.

Congratulations to:

  • SMAW and GMAW 1st place winner Karl Ludwig, Anoka Tech 2nd year student
  • SMAW and GMAW 3rd place winner Mason Mesedahl, Anoka Tech 2nd year student
  • GTAW 3rd place winner, Bri Bader, Anoka Tech 2nd year student

Anoka-Ramsey Welding instructor, Lisa Glendower said, “It’s rewarding to see how holding students to high expectations pays off, such as these awards.”

Behind the Mask is a welding competition sponsored by the American Welding Society Northwest Section 019, where student and professional welders compete for awards and cash prizes.

Anoka Tech’s Advanced Welding Certificate Program boosts a 100 percent placement rate.
