Paramedic degree program coming to Anoka Tech fall 2019
Since 1995, Anoka Technical College has been home to one of the area’s most well-known Emergency Medical Service (EMS) certificate programs.
There continues to be a shortage of paramedics across Minnesota, including right in the metro region. In order to help meet that need and expand on the well-established programming already offered, starting in the fall of 2019 Anoka Tech will launch a new Paramedic degree program!
Students enrolling in the program will go through five semester, including summers of courses to expand on the EMS training to receive an Associates of Applied Science degree and be prepared to join an exciting field of emergency patient care.
“This is a great job. You have a front row seat to real-life and get to help people their worst day,” shares Brad Wright, paramedic and emergency medical services program director and instructor. “It’s a physical job with autonomy, flexibility and you don’t have to be tied to a desk.”
The program is also being tailored to meet the needs of working adults and parents. Courses will follow a hybrid model and be held primarily two days a week online and in person on weekends.
To hear about this exciting program first-hand, this summer we encourage any interested individual to attend an info session.
