Workforce Development Scholarships available for the fall semester

 welding student

Made possible by the Minnesota State Legislature, Anoka Technical College now has a limited number of $2,500 Workforce Development Scholarships available to students seeking a certificate, diploma or degree in Automotive Technology, Medical Assistant, Machine Trades, Practical Nursing or Welding.

The scholarships are intended to attract workers to in-demand careers in advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health care, information technology and transportation.

Anoka Tech has distributed $65,000 to incoming students through the Workforce Development Scholarship program since its pilot in 2019.

To be considered, students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits (including summer) each semester and maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA).

The deadline to apply for fall semester 2020 is Aug. 30, 2020. Students are encouraged to register for classes and apply early because scholarships will be awarded based off eligibility and first-come, first-serve basis until all of the funds are allocated.

In addition to funds available through Workforce Development Scholarships and other outside sources, the Anoka Technical College Foundation awards more than $100,000 in scholarships annually. Learn more at AnokaTech.edu/AboutATC/Foundation.
